Sharjah Teaching Hospital Safety Signage Package
Design, manufacture and install a complete safety signage package for a 320-bed Sharjah teaching hospital, including ISO 7010 pictograms, photoluminescent escape routes, departmental wayfinding, oxygen and medical-gas identification, and controlled-access warnings. The hospital remained fully operational throughout installation.
The Challenge
Design, manufacture and install a complete safety signage package for a 320-bed Sharjah teaching hospital, including ISO 7010 pictograms, photoluminescent escape routes, departmental wayfinding, oxygen and medical-gas identification, and controlled-access warnings. The hospital remained fully operational throughout installation.
Our Solution
Engineered a 1,420-sign package compliant with ISO 7010 (graphical symbols), ISO 3864 (safety colours), and local MoHAP and Sharjah Civil Defence codes. Photoluminescent exit signs were specified for stairwells and corridors with charging verification to DIN 67510, with a phased night-shift installation plan.
Execution
Surveyed and tagged every sign location, manufactured signs in-house on 2 mm aluminium with photoluminescent overlay where required, and installed across 8 floors over 4 weeks of night-shift working. Final commissioning included luminance charging tests on 240 photoluminescent signs and as-built photograph record.
