Yanbu Royal Commission Power Plant Industrial Marking
Mark hazardous zones, pipe identification, turbine-house floor markings and emergency escape routes across a live Yanbu Royal Commission (RCY) power-and-water plant, with hydrocarbon exposure, high ambient temperatures and ATEX Zone 1 classified areas. The plant had to remain operational throughout, with marking scheduled around PTW windows.
The Challenge
Mark hazardous zones, pipe identification, turbine-house floor markings and emergency escape routes across a live Yanbu Royal Commission (RCY) power-and-water plant, with hydrocarbon exposure, high ambient temperatures and ATEX Zone 1 classified areas. The plant had to remain operational throughout, with marking scheduled around PTW windows.
Our Solution
Applied thermally-resistant novolac epoxy systems rated for sustained 80°C surface temperatures in turbine halls, with polyurea traffic lanes, ASME A13.1 pipe banding on 16 km of pipework, and photoluminescent escape-route marking. All work was ATEX-permit-controlled with intrinsically safe equipment and RCY-approved method statements.
Execution
Conducted HAZID and substrate audit, water-jetted and profiled surfaces, then applied thermally-rated novolac epoxy in turbine zones and polyurea in traffic corridors. Pipe banding was installed on 16 km of pipework per ASME A13.1 colour code, and 3.1 km of photoluminescent escape route was applied with charging-verification testing per DIN 67510.
