Jubail Royal Commission Petrochemical Plant Marking
Mark hazardous zones, pipe identification, bunded-area escape routes and emergency shower signage across a live petrochemical plant in the Royal Commission of Jubail (RCJY), with hydrocarbon exposure, ATEX Zone 1 classified areas and stringent RCJY HSE standards. The plant had to remain operational throughout, with marking scheduled around PTW windows.
The Challenge
Mark hazardous zones, pipe identification, bunded-area escape routes and emergency shower signage across a live petrochemical plant in the Royal Commission of Jubail (RCJY), with hydrocarbon exposure, ATEX Zone 1 classified areas and stringent RCJY HSE standards. The plant had to remain operational throughout, with marking scheduled around PTW windows.
Our Solution
Applied novolac epoxy systems rated for hydrocarbon exposure in process zones, with polyurea traffic lanes, ASME A13.1 pipe banding on 22 km of pipework, and photoluminescent escape-route marking on bund walls and stairways. All work was ATEX-permit-controlled with intrinsically safe equipment and RCJY-approved method statements.
Execution
Conducted HAZID and substrate audit, water-jetted and profiled surfaces, then applied novolac epoxy in bunded zones and polyurea in traffic corridors. Pipe banding was installed on 22 km of pipework per ASME A13.1 colour code, and 4.2 km of photoluminescent escape route was applied with charging-verification testing per DIN 67510.
