Fujairah Corniche Coastal Road Marking
Re-mark 5.4 km of the Fujairah Corniche coastal road with high-humidity-tolerant materials, edge lines, pedestrian crossings and parking-bay demarcation along the beachfront. Coastal humidity and salt spray had degraded previous cold-paint markings within 14 months.
The Challenge
Re-mark 5.4 km of the Fujairah Corniche coastal road with high-humidity-tolerant materials, edge lines, pedestrian crossings and parking-bay demarcation along the beachfront. Coastal humidity and salt spray had degraded previous cold-paint markings within 14 months.
Our Solution
Specified hot-applied thermoplastic throughout for humidity resistance, with anti-skid aggregate on pedestrian crossings and preformed thermoplastic symbols at intersection stop bars. Edge lines received Type II glass beads for night delineation along the corniche promenade.
Execution
Water-blasted ghost lines and surface contaminants, then applied 3.0 mm thermoplastic with simultaneous glass-bead dispensing. A total of 21 km of line was applied across 5.4 km of corniche road, plus 11 raised pedestrian crossings with anti-skid surface and 280 roadside parking bays.

Install a continuous 6.2 km dedicated bicycle lane along the Abu Dhabi Corniche promenade with high skid resistance and UV-stable red colouring that would not fade under direct coastal sun. The work had to be done without closing the popular corniche to pedestrians or cyclists outside early-morning windows.

Mark hazardous zones, pipe identification, bunded-area escape routes and emergency shower signage across a live Fujairah Port crude and product tank farm with 36 storage tanks, hydrocarbon exposure, and ATEX Zone 1 classified areas. The facility had to remain operational throughout, with marking scheduled around PTW windows.
