The facility had to remain operational throughout, with marking scheduled around PTW windows.
The Challenge
Mark hazardous zones, pipe identification, bunded-area escape routes and emergency shower signage across a live Eastern Province power-and-water facility with 8 generating units, hydrocarbon exposure, and ATEX Zone 1 classified areas. The facility had to remain operational throughout, with marking scheduled around PTW windows.
Our Solution
Applied novolac epoxy systems rated for hydrocarbon exposure in process zones, with polyurea traffic lanes, ASME A13.1 pipe banding on 14 km of pipework, and photoluminescent escape-route marking on bund walls and stairways. All work was ATEX-permit-controlled with intrinsically safe equipment.
Execution
Conducted HAZID and substrate audit, water-jetted and profiled surfaces, then applied novolac epoxy in bunded zones and polyurea in traffic corridors. Pipe banding was installed on 14 km of pipework per ASME A13.1 colour code, and 2.8 km of photoluminescent escape route was applied with charging-verification testing per DIN 67510.
