Abu Dhabi Yas Island Mega-Mall Parking Deck Marking
Re-mark a 5,200-bay multi-level parking deck serving a Yas Island mega-mall without disrupting operations during peak weekend trading. The existing layout had faded bays and no dedicated EV or family parking zones, and the client wanted to add accessibility and EV capacity to meet 2024 sustainability targets.
The Challenge
Re-mark a 5,200-bay multi-level parking deck serving a Yas Island mega-mall without disrupting operations during peak weekend trading. The existing layout had faded bays and no dedicated EV or family parking zones, and the client wanted to add accessibility and EV capacity to meet 2024 sustainability targets.
Our Solution
Engineered a floor-by-floor phasing plan with two floors marked simultaneously while mall management routed visitors to alternate decks. Layout was re-optimised using CAD bay-packing analysis to add EV, family, ride-hail and accessibility bays, plus colour-coded zone striping for visitor wayfinding.
Execution
Black-out of ghost lines was completed first using a fast-drying black water-based acrylic, then solvent-based acrylic line paint was applied via airless striper at 1.8 mm dry film. Preformed thermoplastic disabled, EV and arrow symbols were heat-applied for durability, with green family zones, blue accessibility, amber EV and red VIP zones throughout the 7-level deck.
